What we collect
Nothing. PlayAcorn does not collect names, email addresses, location data, or any other personal information. There are no sign-up forms and no login screens.
Game progress and local storage
When your child earns stars or beats a high score, that progress is saved in the browser's local storage on the device they are using. It never leaves the device. We have no servers, no databases, and no way to see it.
Cookies
We do not use tracking cookies or advertising cookies. The site may use small session tokens to keep the page working correctly, but these are never used to identify or follow users.
Advertising
There are no advertisements on PlayAcorn. Ever. No ad networks, no sponsored content, no targeted promotions. The site is free because we want it to be, not because ads pay for it.
Analytics
We use two analytics tools. Vercel Analytics tracks aggregated page views using no cookies and no personal data — we see counts like "50 people visited today", nothing more. We also use Google Analytics 4, configured with restricted data processing and advertising features disabled. Neither tool identifies individual children or creates profiles.
Third parties
Aside from the analytics tools described above, we do not share data with third parties. There are no social media trackers, no ad networks, and no embedded widgets that follow your child across the web.
Children's privacy (COPPA)
PlayAcorn is designed for children under 13 and is built to comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We collect no personal information from children. If you believe any information about a child has somehow been stored, please contact us and we will investigate and delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we ever change how the site works in a way that affects privacy, we will update this page and note the new date below. We will not change the core promise: no data collection, no tracking, no ads.
